Synge Street students set sail!  14:04 Friday, 22/6/2007
Next Monday, June 25th 2007, promises to be an important date in the history of Synge Street CBS. Twenty three third year students, who have just completed their Junior Certificate Examinations, will embark on a sail-training and team-building exercise on board the 'Jeanie Johnson' tall ship.

They will be sailing from Dublin Docklands, leaving at 14.30 hours, to Belfast harbour, arriving on Thursday June 28th. This promises to be an experience of a lifetime for those lucky enough to have been chosen.

They will be seen off by the Minister for Education and Science, Ms. Mary Hanafin, and we wish them well on their voyage.

The entire expedition will be the subject of an RTE programme which is due for airing later on in the year.

This project would not have been possible without the support of the Ocean Youth Trust (Ireland), the Jeanie Johnson Foundation and the Social Inclusion unit of Dublin City Council.

We look forward to bringing you updates on the journey as it unfolds.
